Dave – Love the advance thought on this! I would be game to help put something together if anyone wants to help out. Here are a few ideas I found in a quick search too. Need to have a decision made pretty soon to plan and organize. Anyone else interested?

Cool copper frame. Not sure how expensive something like this would be to make.

A kid’s version of this would be kind of cool – “Seasons”

Can Ms. Durant's class wow auction goers the end of March? The Sagamore Auction (Sagamore Rocks!) is a major fundraising event, where parents are tricked (by being wined, dined, and entertained)—er, encouraged—to throw money at our school. ☺

Read on to learn about what the auction is looking for from our class. Idea due Fri Feb 28.

Good morning,

As most of you already know, the Sagamore Auction is fast approaching. It will take place on March 22. One of the things that we, as room parents, do to help with the auction, is create some type of class artwork or project that can be sold at the auction. Below you will see the guidelines and some past projects to give you some idea of what we are looking for.

If you, like me, are not very artistic, enlist the help of other parents. Ask if there is a parent that would like to take the lead in this project.

Guidelines: Each class should strive to create a project that includes the individual art, fingerprint, handprint, profile or other child-specific detail. This project will be sold at the Auction on Saturday, March 22nd. All proceeds benefit Sagamore Hills Elementary School.

Deadline for Project Title and Description: Friday, February 28th
Deadline to Drop Off Completed Project: Thursday, March 20th

Some Past Projects:

Heart of Hearts Framed Picture - A unique creation made by Ms. Xu's second grade class. Hand drawn hearts and beautiful poems transcribed by these wonderful 2nd graders.
Bistro Table - Whimsical flowers adorn this indoor/outdoor bistro table decorated by Ms. Stein’s 3rd grade class.
Planter - Beautiful planter with whimsical stars. This 16 gallon steel tub is filled with beautiful plants. The stars were decorated by the artists in Ms. Menendez's class and each child signed their name.
Rare Butterfly Collection - Hand drawn and watercolor butterfly specimens mounted on pins in a 16 x 20" shadowbox frame. Each student in Ms. Lockwood’s class created a butterfly for this beautiful collection.
Fingerprint Platter – Festive platter decorated with finger-print people made by each child in Ms. Thornton’s class.
Purple Irises Painting - This gorgeous framed 20" X 16" painting features purple irises on a white background. Look closely and you'll see the flower petals are imprints from the hands of each student in Mrs. Guelda's class.
