<div>Dave,</div>
<div>I have a few thoughts to share. First, I just want to remind
you that my guess is that my technical savvy level probably
represents average or slightly above average for parents
generally. Included into my calculus is the time associated with
using various internet resources (that is, how much time parents
are willing/able to spend hanging out on the internet looking for
stuff). So to that end, I think it's fantastic to try to get an
online storage of "how-tos" particularly for those active in the
PTA so that folks need not reinvent the wheel. I think the other
focus should be on the following (1) getting more parents
involved; (2) providing resources mainly for active parents/PTA;
and (3) providing a useful website for the school community by the
PTA. I think that these are three very separate interests that
are served separately and as a result, it may in fact make sense
to have three separate 'opportunities' /internet resources for
these. But I do not think that the resources for the active
parents/PTA are going to be able to also serve number 3. I know
personally, I find it tough to use a wiki/comment board site.
It's about at the boundary of my abilities. It doesn't work well
on the iphone which is where I spend most of my internet time.
And if it's too complicated for me, I think it's safe to assume
that it's not a good resources for everyone out there (but hey, it
could be that I'm actually in the small minority of confused
people). Also, as awesome as you are, remember that you won't be
volunteering for this forever. Is what you are creating something
that can be managed by the likes of me or someone like me? If
it's too complicated/involved, it may not have staying power after
your children have moved on from Sagamore (assuming you maintain
this post for even that long.</div>
