Thanks Dave. I direct added myself and Ms. Miller to have edit access to the file but not the folder. I also went ahead and made the file public to "anyone with link" in case she wants to forward the email link to the other teachers. We'll see how it works out.

David

On Thu, Sep 11, 2014 at 6:43 AM, Dave Allen Barker Jr <dave@1.0ne.org> wrote:

If you'll remember, I wanted the Drive as open as possible,
with private exceptions for just a few items; so it can't be do
shared for my tastes. I think it's great that teachers have
access (even if it means giving them the login/password).

I think Google spreadsheets are the one document type that
actually allows anonymous (not logged in) editing, so that'd
definitely be the easiest. Looks like you can do "Public on the
web" or "Anyone with link", then set "Access" to "Edit". And
remember too, you can do "File", "See revision history" to see
(or revert) what changes are being made.

What do you think about letting teachers access the PTA
google drive? Ms. Miller and I are both editing a spreadsheet
of STEM volunteers and it makes sense to make it
collaborative. Can we park it on the google drive and give her
access to just that file? Or just that folder? Maybe she
wouldn't even need the login and password then? I'm sure
there's a solution here somewhere ...
