My favorite part was yelling out my favorite state "Georgia is the best of the...fifty nifty United States." Each kid in the choir picked their state and it sounded really cool when we all yelled different states at the same time. We traveled from Chattanooga, TN to Six Flags over GA my last year of elementary school and performed that song. I will never forget that! We've stumbled upon his books this summer and have really been enjoying them. They all seem to be about animals and take place in England a long time ago. So far the stories have been very unusual and a lot of fun. So far we've really enjoyed: The Three Terrible Trins -- Think Downton Abbey but with mice. Harriet's Hare -- An alien in the form of a hare befriends a girl. The Catlady -- A cat lady and her cats. Some of whom she thinks were reincarnated from people she knew. There are a lot more that look great. Dick King-Smith wrote the book Babe: The Gallant Pig which was made into a movie. We just started The Stray this week. So far it's about an elderly woman who runs away from her old folks home. There will be a dog involved I think. Thank you, Dave. Here are a few points to try and stoke the fire a little more. There are *only about 40 people on the list right now* (you can request to see the list members yourself from the bottom of the list info page ) (though I'm guessing at least a half dozen are no longer at Sagamore). There's obviously room to grow, so *let other Sagamore parents know they can sign up !* To those on this list who are no longer at Sagamore, /you're welcome to stay on this list/, but *if you'd like to unsubscribe, you can do so at the bottom of the info page * (Boy, that info page is pretty handy, eh? It's the same page linked from the footer added to every email that passes through the list (so you'll always know how to find it)). There are also other Sagamore discussion lists you may want to check out. And finally, if you're curious about this list's origins, check out the email thread where I propose the idea and its summary page .
